Senior$afe: Protecting Your Senior Clients

Senior investors are often targets of financial fraud, scams, and exploitation, in part because they own tangible assets including homes and pension streams that are attractive to scam artists, which unfortunately include even family members and other trusted caregivers. Many in our older population are vulnerable due to social isolation and distance from family and other support networks. Investment advisors and financial planners are in a unique position to have early knowledge of financial abuse. Through regular contact with clients, you may see a situation develop where you believe the senior is at risk. The Department of Banking is pleased to offer this training to help investment professionals recognize and report possible elder financial exploitation. We will share red flags and provide information on how to report suspected cases of financial abuse
