The FPA CT-Fairfield County Chapter continues to look for opportunities for advisors who are new to our profession to learn from their peers and will be hosting our next FREE NexGen+ After Hours event on Wednesday, February 13th, 5:30pm to 7:00pm, at Brother Jimmy's BBQ in Stamford. After a half hour of networking, we'll dive right into the program.
As any seasoned Financial Advisor knows, new households are the lifeblood of a successful practice - and yet asking for referrals from your current clients can generate few names and a lot of annoyance. This is a social cost that you likely cannot afford.
David Saslowsky, AllianceBernstein's RIA Specialist covering NYC-Metro, and the Advisor Institute can help as you seek to inspire more referrals, and better control the narrative and definition of "what a financial advisor does" in 2019. AllianceBernstein's Advisor Institute is a leading practice-management resource within the industry, focused on improving advisor and investor outcomes. This value-add arm of AB can help with a blueprint for transforming your clients' friends and social acquaintances into meaningful clients in 2019.
Specific topics to be discussed include:
· The psychology behind when and why friends and current clients will and won't make personal referrals.
· How to create a referral-generating message, and how to design/illustrate a practice capabilities brochure for use in meetings with clients and social acquaintances.
· The steps to making an "annoyance-free" contact with any client or acquaintance that will increase the likelihood of a referral.
David Saslowsky is a Vice-President and Regional Manager with AllianceBernstein, working in support of advisory teams in the NYC Metro Market. Prior to joining AllianceBernstein, he worked on an Institutional Investment Team serving Fortune 500 Corporations at both Lehman Brothers and Wachovia Securities. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business and lives in Long Island with his wife, Jennifer, and children, Charlie & Greyson.
This event is intended to support the next generation of financial planners. By next generation, we mean not only those that fall into the typical NexGen age group, but also CFP® students, new planners, and career transitionists of all ages... and we welcome more seasoned planners, allied professionals and educators who wish to connect with this group.
We hope you can join us for this free event which is an opportunity - no matter your age or experience - to grow your network, to learn business success strategies, to discover new ways to market yourself and/or your practice, and to make meaningful connections.
RSVP by Monday, February 11th, by contacting Lori Somerville, at 877-777-0600 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
