The Cost of Care - Beyond Dollars

Living longer has its advantages, but it also increases the likelihood of needing long term care, something that tends to become more costly each year. According to the Genworth Cost of Care Survey 2018, the median cost for some long term care support services can run as high as $100,000 per year with some care costs increasing two to three times the 2.1 percent U.S. inflation rate. This means that when one member of a family or community needs help with age-related issues, every person who knows and loves them may be deeply affected by their need for care and the associated costs. During this session we will take a closer look at the cost of care, the impact on caregivers and their families, as well as explore resources to help with planning for long term care.
