Why do advisors need to talk about investing in 529 plans? Because investing in education for family members is only second to retirement savings. In this one-hour presentation, the presenter will address the following topics:
* How to plan and prepare as college costs continue to rise and how financial aid may or may not help families pay for college.
* What are some of the federal income and estate tax laws that may affect college planning?
* Last, but not least, what are the options available to clients when the money is not used for a designated beneficiary's college?

Learning Objective:At the end of this session, attendees will understand how to maximize the value of 529 plans to the client's benefit as part of their holistic wealth management strategy.
