Dan Candura, CFP® provides financial advice and education to consumers and financial professionals. He is founder of his own education and consulting firm Candura Group, LLC. In that role he provides ethics training across the United States through in-person courses and webinars. As President of PennyTree Advisers LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory firm in Massachusetts, Dan provides personal financial planning for consumers, financial education counseling to employees in workplace settings and litigation support and forensic financial analysis services for attorneys. Dan taught financial planning, insurance planning and retirement planning in the Sawyer School of Business at Suffolk University in Boston and is also a FINRA arbitrator. In 2010, CFP Board named Dan as the CFP® Ambassador for the Boston area.

 

Previously Dan provided leadership to the registered representatives of ING Financial Advisers LLC in New England. Earlier, he served as Vice President, Financial Planning Quality, in the Financial Advisory Services Group of American Express Financial Advisors in Minneapolis, MN.

 

Dan appeared as a featured expert on the 2008 PBS documentaryRetirement Revolution. Profiles of Dan appeared inThe Journal of Financial Planning,Wealth ManagerandTicker. He has been quoted inUSA Today,The New York Times,Investment News, The Journal of Financial Planning, Wealth Managerand other publications. He presented hundreds of seminars and workshops across the country on topics ranging from the basics of financial planning to the future of quality within the financial services industry. Dan served on the Board of Directors of The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. from 2004 through 2008 and is a past Chair of the Board of Professional Review. He chaired the Task Force on CE & Competency for CFP Board. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor. He was a founding member and Co-Chair of theSales and Marketing Quality Councilof The Conference Board.

 

A graduate of Stonehill College, he earned a Masters Degree from Bridgewater State University. He received his certification as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ in 1987.

Daniel L. Daniels is a partner in Wiggin and Dana's Private Client Services  Department and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. He divides his time between the firm's Greenwich and New York offices.  Dan focuses his practice representing business owners, private equity and hedge fund founders, family offices, corporate executives and other wealthy individuals and their families.
 
Dan has been included on Worth magazine's list of the top 100 trust lawyers in the United States. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. The Best Lawyers in America guidebook has recognized Dan as the “2016 Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Trusts and Estates for the Stamford region. Dan received his A.B., summa cum laude, from Dartmouth and his J.D., cum laude from Harvard Law School.
 
Dan is a co-author of Trusts and Estates Legal Strategies (2008 Aspatore Books) and has written for various publications, including Trusts and Estates magazine, Estate Planning magazine, Practical Tax Strategies magazine, the National Law Journal and Exempt Organization Review. He also has been quoted on trust and tax-related subjects in the Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger's Personal Finance and Financial Planning.  Dan is a current or former member of the board of various organizations including the Greenwich Library and the Fairfield County Community
Foundation.
 
Dan has a particular interest in working with owners of family- and closely held businesses. He worked for several years in his own family's third generation family business. He is a member of the Family Firm Institute and Attorneys for Family Held Enterprises, as well as Wiggin and Dana's Closely Held Business Practice Group.

William R. Fleming is a Managing Director in the Personal Financial Services division of  PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Hartford and Boston offices.  Bill has been providing financial planning advice since 1979, first as a principal of Ayco Corporation (previously a division of American Express).  He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1987.

 

His financial planning clients include prominent or retired executives at Fortune 500 companies as well as start-up (pre-IPO) companies.  In addition, Bill provides succession planning to the owners of smaller businesses as well as sophisticated plans for wealthy individuals.

 

Bill is an attorney licensed in both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.  He was previously licensed to sell life insurance and all types of investments (including real estate tax shelters, annuities, mutual funds, as well as stocks and bonds).  He is a member of numerous professional organizations relating to estate and financial planning and has Certified Financial Planner and Accredited Estate Planner designations.  Bill has been both an instructor for professional education programs and is a seminar leader for company wide financial, retirement planning, and stock option strategy seminars as well as individual financial planning for corporate executives.  He has co-authored several PricewaterhouseCoopers publications dealing with life insurance and estate planning.


 
He regularly appeared on CNBC's Money Club and other CNBC programs.  He has also appeared on Wall Street Journal Reports and CNN, has contributed to the Bottom Line financial newsletter, Business Week, Fortune, The Practical Accountant, the AARP newsletter, and many local newspapers.

 

 




Donald Klepper-Smith

Don Klepper-Smith has been a professional economist for thirty years and served as Chairman of Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell’s Economic Advisory Council between 2007 and 2010. He has been a long-time observer of the region's economy, and is regularly quoted by various media sources for his perspective and insights on the domestic and Connecticut economies, being a frequent Economics Commentator on WTNH Television in New Haven, Connecticut.

Don is also a long-time professional researcher, developing and directing strategic planning initiatives on behalf of clients in order to help them make better business decisions.

Between 1982 and 1996, Don was Corporate Economist with Southern New England Telephone in New Haven, providing economic analysis and forecasts of national and state business trends.

Today, Don specializes in evaluating consumer markets, assessing the generators of consumer wealth, while also providing valuable perspective on business conditions as they relate to credit markets and employment growth. A technician by trade, Don's reliable forecasts of the changing U.S. and New England economic landscapes have kept him in demand.

In addition to chairing Governor Rell’s Economic Advisory Council, he also served as an Economic Advisor to the Governor of Connecticut during the Weicker Administration.

Don has chaired numerous economic outlook conferences over the last three decades, and has served as President of both the Economic Club of Connecticut and the Hartford Area Business Economists, two organizations which explore economic issues of importance to Connecticut with a focus on business,
government and education.

Don earned his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Stony Brook University in New York in 1978, focusing on economics, econometric modeling, statistics and forecasting theory. In 1975, he received his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University, as well.
