MIT vs Long Term Care
Long-term care in Connecticut is very expensive. Long-term care insurance is an expensive option to help pay. Those who can afford premiums may have policies that cannot cover the full cost of care. In this session, you’ll learn a way to compliment long-term care insurance by using a Medicaid Irrevocable Trust (MIT). For some, an MIT can even be used in lieu of long-term care insurance. Assets retitled into an MIT are off limits for long-term care expenses after five years. But those assets still get the step up in basis upon death and have certain creditor protections.

PEPs: The 401K Solution For Advisors That Hate 401Ks
This panel discussion will cover all aspects of PEPs (Pooled Employer Plans). As you may know, the SECURE Act has created an opportunity for small to mid-sized employers to “band together” to achieve better pricing and services efficiencies for their retirement plan needs. Especially now that Connecticut has MANDATED that all employers with 5 or more employees MUST have a retirement plan, PEPs have become a solution that all advisors need to be aware of. This panel will not only explore options for implements a PEP, but will also compare and contrast various PEP options vs. the Connecticut State Plan. If you have clients with 5 or more employees… this is a discussion you will not want to miss.
